LEGO Minifigures changes from 16 to 12 :(

Do you collect minifigures? If so, this news might be good, or might be terrible! Promobricks is reporting that starting in 2021, LEGO is changing a complete set for minifigures from 16 to 12.

I’m just new to LEGO and haven’t been collecting minifigures at all, but I’m of the opinion that it sucks. This is echoed by

He mentions that designing 12 characters is easier, and would extend minifigures series more because it takes less time to develop 12 instead of the 16.
