So with the holidays coming up, I’m rounding out the top 5 sets I want to pick up for this year. Part of the reason for this list is because of the timing. Between now and before 2021, is the time where you will see the most sales in my opinion. Between Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday Sale, Boxing Day (for Canadians) now is the time where my wallet gets hurt the most!
So without further ado, here are the top sets I’m looking to pick up at a discount before the end of the year.
#1 LEGO Creator Haunted House 10273
This is the main set that I am looking to pick up. I remember not thinking much of it when it was announced, but as soon as it was available, I just wanted to get it. The more I saw people showing pictures of their box (lol ya that worked on me), the more I had to have it. I think that it would look great in my LEGO city (when I build one) and so this is a must have!
#2 LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 42115
This set just looks amazing. I think part of my added desire to acquire this set has to do with the fact that I already have LEGO Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS 42056 and the Bugatti Chiron 42083. Getting the Lamborghini would complete the collection for me. One thing of note is the gradual increase in price as new set has been introduced. The Porsche was $299.99 CDN (I believe), Bugatti is $399.99 CDN and the Lamborghini is $489.99 CDN. If the starting price of the Bugatti was $399.99, I think I would have bought it already. Nonetheless gorgeous set!
#3 LEGO Disney Train Station 71044
As mentioned with the Haunted House, I am building a LEGO city. I have taken time to think about what train set I want for my city. After much thought, I felt that the Disney Train is best. Why? Because I have the LEGO Disney Castle 71040. I just think it would look so good with the two together! I might put another train on the track, but nothing jumps out at me more than the Disney Train.
#4 LEGO Creator Monster Burger Truck 31104
Haha, I’m not sure many like this set? But I just think that it looks so funny, and I can imagine it being in my city and minifigures lining up to buy a burger! At its retail price of $69.99, I feel it is a bit high, but at a discount, then you can count me in! This is one of those sets that I can see have a 30-40% off (just me thinking out loud). See shall see what happens between now and 2021, hope I’m right!
#5 LEGO Batman 1989 Batwing 76161
This is THE set for me for 2020. You might ask why I have it ranked as #5 instead of #1 on my list. It’s simple, this is the set I will get regardless of a discount. I just think LEGO did such an amazing job, and with the LEGO 1989 Batmobile 76139 that I already have, it will be perfect. Also, take a look at how you can mount it on the wall! Thats such an awesome feature.
Hahaha of course I would want to fit in a couple more things, I’m a LEGO fan after all and there are just so many sets!
HM #1 LEGO Creator Expert James Bond Aston Martin DB5 10262
If you have seen my instagram recently, you’ll know that I am slowly putting back my London Bus 10258 and Volkswagen Beetle 10252. I have a display case from Ikea that I want to fill up with these Creator Expert vehicles! I recently just built the Ford Mustang 10265. It is a weird mentality, but once you have a couple sets of a series, it kinda makes you want to get the rest?
HM #2 Chinese New Year Temple Fair 80105
I want this set, simply because my daughter is building this theme. This morning we completed LEGO Lion Dance 80104 and she LOVED IT! I was in charge of gathering pieces for her each step of the way. This is the quality time that I love with her!
Anyways, there you have it! Those are my Top 5 + 2 Honourable Mentions. I doubt I will be able to get all these sets before the end of the year, but good to have things ready!
What about you guys? What sets would you like to add to your collection before the year end? Be sure to check back on the blog often, I try to post sales as often as I can!
