Hey guys! As we already know, the LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship 75309 is due to release sometime in 2021. The Gunship was the winner of a LEGO IDEAS poll last year. However, we haven’t heard much more information about it, until now. Following a conversation with several LEGO Star Wars designers and Fan Media outlets today, we’ve gathered a bit more details!
Check out this video by YouTuber Solid Brix Studios:
The model was designed by Hans Burkhard Schlömer. The creator of many sets, including the Millennium Falcon 75192 and A-wing Starfighter 75275. The piece count was not revealed, but you can expect the size of this set to be considerably larger than anything from the past. It was described as “coffee table size” and “too big for a shelf”. Having said that, the estimation of length should be somewhere around 50cm – 55cm and the cockpit section will consist of two 10x4x3 cockpit elements. The retail value should sit somewhere around $349.
The vessel appears in both Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and The Clone Wars or Revenge of the Sith, but it was confirmed that the inspiration will drive from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
No information about the minifigure section has been revealed, except that Jedi Bob, the anonymous hero included all the way back in Republic Gunship 7163 from 2002, will not be included.
Are you disappointed that Jedi Bob won’t be part of this set? Comment below!
