HUGE News! Bricklink will now offer rejected LEGO Ideas!

Hey guys! Here is some very cool news. Remember how on December 8th 2020, we posted about how LEGO was conducting a survey to see if LEGO fans around the world would be interested in purchasing LEGO ideas sets that passed 10k support but not LEGO review?

Well we now have news that LEGO will indeed allow people to buy these sets through Bricklink!

So how does this all work? Well, through Bricklink’s AFOL Designer Program, past designers who have designs that achieved 10K support will be able to participate.

One thing of note, the sets that will qualify for this program can not have any IP.

So what sets from past designers qualify for this program? Well the awesome people at StoneWars.de has done an excellent job identifying sets that may qualify. They set a few parameters.

  • Designs can’t have any third party intelletual property
  • Designs shouldn’t be older than 3 years since rejection
  • Designs that are not products that LEGO already has

They came to the following list.

What are your thoughts? Do you like this idea? Personally, as a AFOL, I love this idea, and hope that some of the sets that I have voted but was rejected, gets a second chance!

Happy LEGO Building!
